With summer fast approaching, we’re looking forward to some amazing film releases and (fingers crossed!) some amazing weather to match.
We’ve teamed up with Swedish Glace to offer you some wholesome summer treats when visiting our cinemas over the next few months.

Machines is an immersive, mesmerising portrait of the rhythm of life and work in a gigantic textile factory in Gujarat, India. Using strong visual language, memorable images and carefully selected interviews with the workers themselves, director Rahul Jain tells a story of inequality and oppression, humans and machines.
The Other Side of Hope (12a) – Friday 26 May
Director: Aki Kaurismäki. Finland/Germany 2017. TBC mins. Finnish/Swedish/Arabic with English subtitles.
The Other Side Of Hope sensitively weaves together the experiences of two men who flee their homes and form an unlikely friendship: a Syrian refugee who arrives in Helsinki as a stowaway on a coal freighter, and a spiky Finnish travelling salesman.
The Red Turtle (PG) – Friday 26 May

The life of a castaway on a deserted island is changed forever by the arrival of a red turtle. The Red Turtle is a magical, moving and dialogue-free fable from Oscar-winning animator Michaël Dudok de Wit.
My Life as a Courgette (PG) – Friday 2 June
Director: Claude Barras. Starring: Gaspard Schlatter, Sixtine Murat, Elliot Sanchez. Switzerland/France 2016. 66 mins.
The improbably nick-named Courgette, a shy, bug-eyed child, is consigned to an orphanage after his alcoholic mother’s sudden death. A sensitive script by Céline Sciamma, and terrific animation and colouring brilliantly befit the narrative of a film that’s much more than kids’ entertainment.

Director: Marc Webb. Starring: Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Lindsay Duncan . UK 2017. 101 mins.
A single man raising his child-prodigy niece is drawn into a custody battle when her abilities come to the attention of his formidable mother. A moving story about choices, compassion and family, all underscored by a wicked sense of humour.
